However, to be fair, the only practical use for MIDI files any more is to make sounds in some old video games which I don't bother to play. My experience was that the leap from my 6800 to the 8800 (BFG 88640 GTS OC) was impressive- even running Direct X 9 games, the 8800 has a much nicer presentation. Having said that, a 6 of 7 series card will work fine in Vista, you just won't get to take advantage of the Direct X 10 capability. Good luck, Fitz.
